Edward Adams, Chief Technology Officer, Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, is an information systems professional with expertise in emerging technologies, application design and development, networking technologies, database, computer graphics and business intelligence. Prior to joining the Ross School, Ed was involved with organizations focused on new technology creation and business process improvement using technology, including: senior systems programmer with Unisys Corporation involved in early advances in threaded language design, personal computing and document imaging; an Executive Director with Schlumberger responsible for the software design, computer graphics standards, and international marketing of all CAD software solutions; a principle in a successful startup company that developed Just-In-Time production scheduling enterprise software; and a consultant to several companies implementing supply chain management software. Dr. Michael Zastrocky is currently Executive Director of the Leadership Board for CIO’s in Higher Education and Senior Advisor to The Chronicle of Higher Education. He also serves as a consultant in higher education globally. He recently retired as Managing Vice President, Education Research Leader and Research Director for Academic Strategies at Gartner Inc, the world’s largest information technology research and advisory services organization. In his current and recent roles, Dr. Zastrocky examines and analyzes current and emerging IT trends and assesses the implications of those trends on educational institutions globally. He also examines higher education management issues and how institutions can effectively and efficiently manage organizations. Before joining Gartner, he served as a faculty member at several universities, assistant dean, chief information officer, vice president of CAUSE (the international association for managing and using information resources in higher education, now EDUCAUSE), and vice president of the Kaludis Consulting Group. He has delivered many keynote addresses around the globe and has served as a faculty member for many institutes and seminars globally. He has written or co-authored numerous books, modules, research notes, and articles on information technology, mathematics, and management issues.
