Jim Wetherbe is Stevenson Chaired Professor of Information Technology at Texas Tech University. He was formerly the FedEx Professor of Excellence in MIS at the University of Memphis, Professor of MIS and Director of the MIS Research Center at the University of Minnesota, and a Professor of MIS at the University of Houston. He is the author of 21 highly regarded books including the Information Technology for Management (4th edition, Wiley Publishing, 2004), god.online, (Mead Publishing, 2003), The World On Time: 11 Management Principles That Made FedEx an Overnight Sensation (Knowledge Exchange, 1997), So, What's Your Point? (3rd edition, Mead Publishing, 2006). His book on FedEx was ranked as one of the Top 30 Business Books of 1997 out of 1,500 published in 1997. In march 2003, Matthew Miszewski was appointed Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the state of Wisconsin by Governor Jim Doyle. He oversees the state's approximately $400 million annual investment in information technology. Matthew coordinated efforts to reduce IT-related spending across state agencies by $40 million for the 2003-05 biennium and under his leadership Division of Enterprise Technology implemented initiatives that are saving nearly $30 million per year across state and local governments on an ongoing basis. Government Technology magazine named Matthew as one of its Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers for 2004. Catherine Boivie is Senior Vice-President of Information Technology at Pacific Blue Cross. With nearly 2 million members, Pacific Blue Cross is a provider of Extended Health Care and Dental coverage to residents of British Columbia and through its subsidiary, Blue Cross Life, life insurance and disability income protection. In 2003 Gartner, Inc. awarded Catherine the IT Executive of the Year Award for Midsize Enterprises. Catherine is the founding chair of both the CIO Association of Canada and its chapter CIO Vancouver and Western Chair of the Couchiching Institute of Public Affairs.
