IT projects, when executed in a distributed environment i.e. by geographically separated teams, face a number of issues. Moreover, with the advent of offshore outsourcing, these issues are becoming more obvious. Every vendor touts its own delivery model based on its internal experience and expertise. However, the IT community can significantly benefit from a common framework which is developed by leveraging the experience of multiple customers and vendors.
