Jack Heine is a research vice president in Gartner. His research focuses on IT asset management processes, cost justification and budgeting, performance measurement, IT chargeback as well as general IT resource allocation and management issues. Immediately prior to joining Gartner, Jack was a consultant to NASA's Manned Space Flight Program, providing IT strategic planning support to the Shuttle Flight Software Development Facilities at the Johnson Space Center. Dean Verhaeghe is the vice president of development for optimization products for Tivoli Software at IBM. He is responsible for leading the strategy and development of optimization development including workload scheduling, decision support, inventory and asset management. With more than 30 years of experience working in systems management, Dean's special emphases are in the areas of availability, performance, data center operations and IT financial management.
