Phil Edholm is the Chief Technologist and Vice President of Network Architecture for Nortel Enterprise Solutions. Prior to Nortel, Phil had 9 years with Sytek/Hughes LAN Systems and 4 years with Silicon Valley start-ups. Phil was a member of the IEEE 802.3 standards committee during the definition of broadband Ethernet and 10BaseT, developed the first multi-protocol network interfaces, and was a founder of the Frame Relay Forum. He's been a featured speaker at many international conferences and is recognized as a visionary and leader of the convergence transformation. Phil has been in the VoiceCon Great Debate three times and is recognized by the IEEE as the originator of Edholm's Law of Bandwidth as published in July 2003 IEEE Spectrum magazine. Jeff Nick is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at EMC Corporation, where he leads EMC's Office of Technology and works directly with EMC customers and leading technologists, as well as with the industry in developing standards. Nick joined EMC in September 2004 from IBM, where he held the distinguished title of IBM Fellow, the highest technical honor that IBM bestows on its IT innovators. During his 24-year career with IBM, Nick filed more than 80 inventions and holds more than 50 U.S. patents in computer systems technology. Hubert Yoshida is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Hitachi Data Systems Corporation Hubert Yoshida, is vice president and CTO, of Hitachi Data Systems. Hu is also well known within the storage industry, and his blog was recently (2007) ranked among the “top 10 most influential” within the storage industry by Network World. In 2006, he was named “CTO of the Year” by Jon Toigo, and in October of 2006, Byte and Switch named him one of “Storage Networking's Heaviest Hitters.” Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems in 1997, Yoshida spent 25 years with IBM's storage division, where he held management roles in hardware performance, software development and product management. Since joining Hitachi Data Systems, he has worked to develop open standards for storage management, and in his previous role as vice president of Data Networks he helped to define Hitachi Data Systems' strategy for various storage and data technologies. Hu has also served on the advisory boards of several technology companies and currently sits on the Scientific Advisory Board for the Data Storage Institute of the Government of Singapore.
