View all posts Jason Joseph is chief digital and information officer of Spectrum Health, an $8.2 billion not-for-profit integrated health system based in West Michigan. In this role, Jason is responsible for strategic and operational information services, digital platforms, technology, cybersecurity, and emergency preparedness throughout Spectrum Health. Jason has been a member of the Spectrum Health Information Services leadership team since 2006. Before assuming his current position, Jason served as senior vice president for the Spectrum Health Delivery System. Jason has advanced a variety of strategic priorities during his tenure with Spectrum Health, including implementation of an integrated clinical and revenue cycle system, creation and growth of a regional health information exchange, implementation of consumer-facing digital technologies, the advancement of business intelligence and analytics capabilities, and pursuit of a culture of excellence and innovation. He has held multiple roles across the system during his tenure, serving within Spectrum Health Hospital Group, Spectrum Health Medical Group, and Priority Health. Before joining Spectrum Health, Jason was vice president, information systems and services for IdeaSphere, a health and wellness product manufacturer. Jason began his career with Ernst & Young LLP in its management consulting practice, where he specialized in enterprise software development and integration.
Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, where he graduated at the top of his class and received the John R. Malone Award for the highest academic performance. He also holds a certificate in health care project management from the Harvard School of Public Health. He is a graduate of the Spectrum Health Executive Leadership Institute at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Jason is actively involved in professional and community not-for-profit organizations. He is a board member, and past board president, of the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum. He is involved in the Scottsdale Institute, Health Management Academy, College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the Healthcare Data & Analytics Association. He is also an active supporter of several local faith-based and community organizations in the Grand Rapids area, where he lives with his wife and two children.
