His education includes a post-doctoral fellowship in computer science at Cornell University, both a Ph.D. and MBA in business from the University of Georgia, and a BS in education from the University of Arkansas. He is a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and the US Army War College.
He is the author and co-author of a number of management and IT articles and an IT outsourcing book by Prentice Hall and recently issued in Chinese. Dr. Jones has consulted to private and public-sector organizations worldwide, including the governments of China and Jordan. With a leading profile as a management practitioner and outsourcing thought leader, he has managed a number of large organizations, including global delivery of outsourcing services for Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq Computer Corporation with 2400 worldwide employees. He has received a number of industry awards and the military Legion of Merit and Bronze stars.
