Val is CIO at The Ottawa Hospital which is one of the largest Academic, Teaching Health Care Institutions in Canada with 3 Campuses and 15,000 employees. Her responsibilities include Information Systems Solution Delivery, Information Technology, Strategic Planning, and Portfolio and Program Management.
Prior to her current role, Val served as Sr. Director and Deputy CIO since 2009, and as Director Information Systems since 1998. Val also has more than 10 years experience leading large, complex Regional and Provincial Healthcare IT projects.
Val completed her Bachelor of Arts in History at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick and her Master of Business Administration at the University of Ottawa.
