Chief Information Officer Suzanne Gordon has focused her 300-person staff on the alignment of IT resources with other business units within SAS. Suzanne was elevated to CIO from Vice President of the SAS Information Systems Division (ISD) in 2003, the same year she was named a ComputerWorld Premier 100 IT leader. She was honored for her innovative, effective approach to providing hardware, software and project management support for national and international operational systems. Suzanne headed the management information services department in ISD for nearly 20 years, where she helped develop the company's information- and applications-rich intranet. She joined SAS in 1980. A graduate of North Carolina State University, Suzanne maintains close ties to the university. A member of the board of trustees, she has also served on the alumni association board and College of Management Advisory board. Suzanne is a frequent speaker and mentor to women pursuing technical careers, and is also active in a medical ministry that provides services to low-income individuals.
