Santiago Ontañón, is Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Mexicana de Aviación (MX) since 2005. Previous to joining Mexicana, he was General Manager of Computer Associates in Mexico and before that, Deputy Postmaster General of Mexico. He started his professional career as a consultant with McKinsey & Co. in the areas of Telecommunications, Transport and Government. In 1995 he was part of the group that made Direct To Home Television a reality in Mexico, working for Grupo Televisa as Director of New Technologies and as an active participant in the operation of Sky Latin America. His experience in DTH took him to become part of a group of global pioneers, with Tachyon Inc., that revolutionized Satellite Data Communications and made IP-over-satellite a reality.
