Sankar Balasubramanian is the Chief Data Officer and Senior Vice President at Flagstar Bank, a position he has held since shortly after joining Flagstar in April 2013. In this role, he has created a multi-year Data Modernization strategy for the bank and is in the process of executing it. His significant achievements include standing up and institutionalizing the Data Governance Organization across the Enterprise and creating reporting and analytics for a new line of business. He is responsible for assembling the people, defining the processes, and securing the technology to create an analytics center of excellence. Prior to joining Flagstar, he was consulting at IBM Business Analytics and Optimization practice and had been in strategy and management consulting for the previous 21 years.
