Appointed Chief Information Officer of Sun Microsystems, Inc. in July 2006, Bob Worrall is responsible for all aspects of Sun's global IT infrastructure and line-of-business application development, support and maintenance, including information service delivery and security. Prior to his appointment as Sun's CIO, Worrall was honored by CIO Magazine as one of its “Ones to Watch” for 2006. This prestigious award was given to 20 people nationwide who are considered future CIO's. While at Sun, he also served as Vice President of Information Technology, reporting directly to the CIO, Vice President of applications for Sun's Global Sales and ECommerce organizations, and Vice President of Worldwide IT Operations and Network Services.
