Richard Sharpe actively promotes awareness of supply chain management, challenging executives to consider the role of supply chains in gaining or losing competitive advantage. Richard has been featured as a Rainmaker in DC Velocity and frequently speaks at industry conferences as well as providing input for multiple industry publications.
Under Richard’s direction, Competitive Insights, LLC has been on the fore front on Supply Chain Risk and Risk Mitigation for the last seven years. In October of 2005, Richard and another associate, John Deasy, authored an article for DC Velocity magazine entitled Collision Course, Things will Go Wrong. The core research for the article was used by the White House in the Post Katrina response effort. Richard has also organized conference tracks on the subject of Supply Chain Risk and Mitigation Strategies for CSCMP as well as spoken at CSCMP Roundtables on this subject.
Richard is also serving as a founding member of the newly announced American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN), a non-profit association focused to serve in times of national crisis.
