Philip Russom is TDWI Research Director for Data Management and oversees many of TDWI’s research-oriented publications, services, and events. Russom is recognized worldwide as a thought leader for data integration tools, teams, and techniques. Through his research, writing, and speaking at TDWI, he has made unique and original contributions to new DI practices like collaborative DI, operational DI, agile DI, and the next generation of DI. He also maintains a high competency in related fields, like data quality, master data management, and unified data management.
Russom’s second area of expertise concerns data warehouse platforms, for which he has defined next generation data warehousing, operational data warehousing, data warehousing on clouds, and big data analytics. Over the years, Russom has produced over 500 reports, magazine articles, opinion columns, speeches, and Webinars on these and other topics in data integration, data warehousing, and business intelligence.
Before joining TDWI in 2005, Russom was an industry analyst covering BI at Forrester Research and Giga Information Group. He also ran his own business as an independent industry analyst and BI consultant and was a contributing editor with leading IT magazines. Before that, Russom worked in technical and marketing positions for various database vendors.
