Partha Iyengar is regional research director for Gartner, India and leads the India research team where he has written thought-leading research on global AD and actively tracks the business models of the leading offshore services vendors from India and other emerging countries and their competitive positioning. He has more than 22 years of experience in the field of IT, including in the U.S., where he has held senior technical and managerial positions at major U.S. corporations, including Gartner. Prior to setting up Gartner operations in India, his previous positions in the U.S. include director of Applications Development within Gartner's internal IT department, in Stamford, Connecticut. Prior to joining Gartner, he had a very successful stint as CEO and principal of his own organization in the U.S., where he provided assistance to major corporations. Partha is a frequent speaker and presenter at numerous Gartner and external forums, as well as for various government organizations in India and overseas. He is extensively quoted in the local, national and international press, and he was also recently interviewed on the U.S. CBS News show "60 Minutes." He was also a participant in a CNN International Panel discussion on global sourcing. He is also co-author of a book published by Gartner Press and the Harvard Business School on India and China strategies, titled, "IT and the East – How China and India Are Altering the Future of Technology and Innovation."
