Miro Humer serves as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for University Technology (UTech) at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), a distinguished R1 research institution located in Cleveland, Ohio. In his role, Miro is responsible for crafting the overarching vision and strategies that facilitate the provision of technology solutions in support of the university’s mission of teaching, learning, and research, as well as its daily operations. He is a member of the President’s Cabinet and plays a key role in the university's strategic planning. Miro is recognized as a collaborative leader who fosters both internal and external relationships to achieve meaningful organizational benefits. He leads with a humanistic approach, focusing on
building cohesive teams and achieving consensus across different organizational groups. His exceptional skills in communication, presentation, and motivation create an environment where
all stakeholders are inspired to contribute to strategic direction and innovation. Miro joined the UTech Senior Leadership Team as the Associate Vice President for Client Experience in July 2017. His leadership and operational responsibilities encompass university-wide technology management, including overseeing technology and related personnel across various schools and business units, enterprise applications, customer support services, and digital media services. He has played a pivotal role in supporting and expanding the Augmented Reality (AR) program, notably utilizing the Microsoft HoloLens to develop the world's first holographic anatomy program. Before joining CWRU, Miro was the Chief Information Officer at Cleveland State University (CSU), where he also held positions as Director of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships and Enterprise Applications Manager. Miro holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Management and Labor Relations. He has served as the Chair of the Ohio Inter-University Council – CIO Committee and is a member of both the Microsoft Higher Education Advisory Board and the Hyland Software Higher Education Executive Advisory Board. Miro has presented at numerous national conferences and published several articles, with a particular interest in digital transformation and strategic innovation. Prior to his career in higher education, Miro gained experience in telecommunications, banking, and consulting.
