Mamatha Chamarthi serves as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for CMS Energy and its principal subsidiary, Consumers Energy. Chamarthi oversees the company's information technology systems and promotes innovative technology practices.
Chamarthi’s career spans over 18 years, and is viewed as a thought leader in the implementation of new technologies, systems and processes.
Chamarthi holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. She also holds Master's degrees in Computer Science and Software Engineering and English Literature.
Chamarthi serves on the boards of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology (MCWT) and Midwest Technology Leaders. She is a member of the Wall Street Journal Executive Taskforce for Women in the Economy and also serves as an advisory board member and mentor for the “Elevate - We Build Character” Mentoring Program for IT professionals.
In 2005, Chamarthi was recognized as a "Technology All Star" by the Women of Color in Technology Institute. In 2012, Chamarthi was selected as one of Computerworld’s 2012 Premier 100 IT leaders, appointed to serve on the Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission by Governor R. Snyder, the Governors Michigan Counsel for Cyber Security and the EEI Cyber Security Counsel.
