“Everything we do in IT should help the business make and sell our products.” This vision is how Harish Ramani, Global Chief Information Officer, embodies the role of IT at Constellation Brands. Born in Bombay, India, he has lived all over the world, in such as places as United Arab Emirates, England, India and Saudi Arabia, as well as California and Texas in the United States. Harish currently lives in Victor, New York.
Harish gravitated toward technology in his education and career. He earned a BA-MIS from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA in Finance from Dallas Baptist University. After college, his career started with Exxon/Mobil as a senior analyst. After working for the oil and gas company, Harish’s career expanded into the beverage industry where he worked for Dr Pepper/Seven UP as director of IT. Next, he spent 10 years working for Cadbury Schweppes as director of IT and then Red Bull Americas as the head of IT before joining Constellation Brands in 2007 as Chief Information Officer for the North American region. In 2010 he was named Global Chief Information Officer.
A common thread throughout Harish’s career is the ability to bring people together to accomplish a goal. This talent allows him to draw in both business and IT perspectives to work together on creative answers to technology challenges. Harish’s experience helped shape his approach to keeping a global company like Constellation connected and engaged.
