Doug Robinson serves as Executive Director for the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO), Representing state CIOs and information technology executives. Doug is a frequent speaker, panelist and author representing NASCIO issues, state CIOs, emerging trends and state government IT. In addition, he represents NASCIO on several national boards, committees and advisory groups.
Among his recognitions, he was named to Government Technology magazine's 2006 Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers in public sector information technology. Doug's career spans over thirty years in state government, higher education and public sector IT. Prior to joining NASCIO in 2004, he served as Executive Director in the Governor's Office for Technology, Commonwealth of Kentucky. Doug also spent several years as Vice?Chair of NASCIO's Enterprise Architecture Committee.
Doug's other state government leadership positions included executive director of the Kentucky Information Resources Management Commission and executive director of the Kentucky Office of Geographic Information Systems. For 15 years, he served in university public service and technical assistance roles as acting director and technology coordinator for NASA's Technology Applications Center at the University of Kentucky.
