Dan Mahlebashian is the Chief Contracting Officer, General Motors Corporation, Information Systems and Services. He is responsible for all contract management activities for IS&S globally at General Motors including contracting, standards and related processes. In addition he is responsible for the IT contracting compnents of BPOs. Dan has been a Contract Management executive for General Motors for the past 6 years, and has over twenty years of extensive experience in contract and financial management areas. Dan is also involved in industry conferences including ICEX, IACCM and has talked at the University of Michigan on the subject of outsourcing. Prior to joining GM, Dan successfully launched a Technology based start-up company where he held the role of Chairman and CEO. From 1996 to 2000, Dan was Senior Director of Borders Group, Inc, a $4.0 billion global retailer of books and other information and entertainment items. At Borders, Dan was responsible for financial management for various business operations including the Superstore chain and the Borders.com and Fulfillment business where he played a critical role in launching the Borders.com business. Prior to Borders, Dan spent 12 years at Florists Transworld Delivery, Inc (FTDI) where he held various positions of major responsibility including the development and launch of FTD.com .
