Chad Kirkpatrick is the Chief Information Officer for the state of Arizona and Director of the GITA (Government Information Technology Agency). Under Chad’s direction, GITA has restructured and improved its delivery of services, making the agency an innovative and strategic value-added partner. The statewide strategic planning process is now a collaborative effort where all agencies have input into the goals for the state.
In September 2010, Chad was elected by his colleagues to the Board of Directors of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO). Arizona’s Governor Jan Brewer has appointed Chad to the Committee on Privatization and Efficiency; which focuses on the most cost effective practices for facilitating government; as well as the Climate Change Oversight Group; which focuses on energy policy suitable for Arizona.
Prior to becoming the State CIO, Chad was Vice President of Technology for the Wells Fargo Home Equity Group. During his five years at Wells Fargo, Mr. Kirkpatrick created the technology group for the Compliance Department. He also turned around the IT department for the CFO’s office. His accomplishments include automating and improving the business process for compliance testing. He also led business initiatives around identifying potential regulatory issues and recommending corrective and preventive action.
