Carl Kessler is the Vice President, Worldwide Development, for IBM's Enterprise Content Management (ECM) business. He is responsible for the technology strategy, research, architecture, development and support of the ECM products. Previously, Carl was Vice President, Worldwide Development & Quality for IBM's Software Group. Carl has held senior software engineering executive positions at IBM for more than a decade.
While at IBM's Research Division, Carl was Director of Software Technology, responsible for the Corporation's research agenda in software engineering and applied computer science. He also served as the Chief Information Officer for IBM's multiple worldwide Research Division laboratories. Carl holds several US and foreign patents and is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He is the co-author of the book, “Outside-in Software Development: a Practical Approach to Building Successful Stakeholder-based Products,” published by Prentice-Hall in 2007.
