Author - Carey Nachenberg

Carey Nachenberg, Symantec Fellow and Chief Architect of Symantec's Security Technology and Response (STAR) division, has been an innovator at Symantec Corporation for the past eighteen years. His work has garnered 25 United States patents. In addition to presenting papers at VB, ICSA, and CSI conferences, Carey has contributed to four books, including Internet Security Professional Reference and Windows NT Server 4: Security, Troubleshooting and Optimization. He is a regular contributor to Virus Bulletin, Secure Computing, and Communications of the ACM and other major computer security journals. He has also appeared in a variety of television and print interviews, and speaks regularly at computer security conferences on behalf of Symantec. Much of Carey's early work at Symantec (and his master's thesis), was based on polymorphic computer virus detection and eradication. He serves as a member of UCLA's Computer Science Alumni Advisory Board and as a staff lecturer.
