Ashok brings over 20 years of strong technical experience to his position at 3PAR. Prior to helping found 3PAR in 1999, he was Chief Architect at Sun Microsystems, responsible for the system architecture for Sun's next-generation, extremely successful Enterprise 3000 to 6000 server family. As a Sun Distinguished Engineer, he designed and specified the system interface and cache coherence protocol for the UltraSPARC III processor. He was awarded the President's Award in 1996 for his contributions to Sun servers. Earlier, he served as a field engineer for Schlumberger Wireline Services in the People's Republic of China (oilfield services) for two years.
