Aref Matin joined John Wiley & Sons, Inc., in 2018 as the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this role, Mr. Matin is responsible for driving innovation, strategy and growth to the organization by developing world-class products and services to serve Wiley’s global customers in the education and research sectors. Under his leadership, Wiley’s technology organization has transformed to respond to the rapid changes in the industry.

Prior to his tenure at Wiley, Mr. Matin served as Chief Technical Officer and Executive Vice President at Ascend Learning, where he was responsible for all technology and led the development of a highly successful set of customer-centric products and platforms. Previously, Mr. Matin held senior leadership positions at Pearson Global Education Services, TomTom, and Siemens, and started his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories.

Mr. Matin holds a MS and BS in Electrical Engineering from Northrop University and certification from the Executive Business Leadership Program at Yale University.
