Author - Dr. Albert Esser

Dr. Albert A. Esser serves as vice president of Dell's Data Center Infrastructure group. Prior to joining Dell, Albert was an advisor to Anzode, a HiTech Battery company and was Vice President Technology, Fluid Power Group, Eaton, based in Cleveland, Ohio. At Eaton, he was a member of the Eaton Technology council and responsible for Eaton's central research. Prior to Eaton, Albert was the CTO and VP, Emerson Network Power, Emerson Electric and served as Technology Business Leader, Network Power Group. As CTO, he oversaw the global R&D and product development of Emerson Network Power, which had engineers in 6 continents. He is a Founding Member of the GridWise Architecture Board, sponsored by the DOE. Albert has held the position of SVP – Corporate Research at Hilti, Liechtenstein. He held several positions with increasing responsibilities in GE having started as Project Manager in GE's Corporate R&D Center, Power Controls Program, where he was Manager and had responsibility for GE's Research in electronics. Prior to this he was at GE Medical Systems, MRI where he eventually became the Global Manager. He was one of GE's first Certified Master Blackbelt and was part of the initial 6 Sigma effort in GE Medical Systems. Albert started his career with Daimler-Benz as a Staff Scientist and member of the Corporate Technology Exchange Program. Albert has published a book on wireless transmission of electric power and signals for robots, 10 papers, received an Outstanding Prize Paper Award jointly from the IEEE/Industrial Application Society and the IEE Japan (1993), and holds 12 US patents. He has received numerous company awards including GE's Dushman award, GE's highest ranking team award..
